Lauri Perman released on Disability Leave; Jennifer Karsten named Interim Executive Director
Pendle Hill's Board Clerk Clinton Pettus announced the appointment of Jennifer Karsten as Interim Executive Director on November 18, 2011.
Dear Friends of Pendle Hill,
As the autumn colors peak on the trees at Pendle Hill, the Pendle Hill Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Karsten as Interim Executive Director. Formerly Dean of Studies, Jen has served as Acting Executive Director since March 2011 when Lauri Perman went on medical leave as a result of injuries from an automobile accident.
Jen brings to her work a high degree of professionalism, integrity, joy, spiritual grounding, social activism, and a deep appreciation and understanding of the ineffable soul of Pendle Hill. A quick study, Jen initially assumed the responsibilities of Acting Executive Director in addition to continuing her work as Dean of Studies for several months. Jen was a member of Doylestown Monthly Meeting (PA) in childhood; today she and her family are members of Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting.
The Board deeply appreciates the gifts and inspiration Lauri Perman brought to Pendle Hill over the four years of her leadership. Her vision, dedication, commitment to fiscal soundness, skills in long range planning, and hard work brought about substantive institutional transformation. The seeds she planted continue to grow and bear fruit. Appropriately, Lauri brought Jen to Pendle Hill.
The Board shares with you our gratitude for the enormous gifts of service contributed to Pendle Hill by Lauri and now by Jen, and for their demonstrated abilities to articulate and advance the mission and priorities of Pendle Hill. Both Jen and Lauri have exhibited sound Quaker stewardship for Pendle Hill, seeking guidance from the Spirit as we move into the future.
W. Clinton Pettus, Clerk
Pendle Hill Board
