Peace workers Diana and John Lampen have been in the field of conflict resolution for decades. Most recently they have brought their skills and stories to Pendle Hill for our multi-week Institute for Creative Conflict Engagement and Transformation. We are pleased to offer an evening slide lecture focusing on their work in Uganda.

Leader(s)

Diana and John Lampen are trained teachers who worked with emotionally disturbed teenage boys for many years. They subsequently moved to Londonderry, Northern Ireland, where they were involved in a range of work for community development, peace, and reconciliation. Diana is an associate member of the Corrymeela Community in Northern Ireland. She is a trained yoga teacher and an Associate of the Yoga Society International. She has written Facing Death and A Relaxation Handbook, and made 32 audiotapes on yoga and relaxation, some for people with special needs.

In 1994, John and Diana created the Hope Project, an agency through which they offer consultancy and training in peace building skills and the creative handling of conflict, and also yoga training and materials to help with relaxation and inner peacefulness. For more detailed information about the work of the Hope Project in the UK and in troubled spots throughout Euroasia and Africa, consult their website, www.hopeproject.co.uk.
