Arts as Infused Mystical Spirituality
Jennifer Elam Tuesday, 01 March 2011
“The Creator is calling us to wake up and listen, is calling loudly. Creativity is my connection with my creator; my listening mode; the seed; the taproot; the beginning; the life support; the transcendent; my mystical spirituality made manifest. I live creativity and seek to infuse it into every part of my life, the beauty and the beasts. I drum, I dance, I paint, I write, I teach, – all as prayer; the muses are there as I ride my bike, grieve, or write psychological evaluations. Arts make manifest the co-creation possibilities; with gratitude, the personal becomes the universal!” Jennifer works as a school psychologist in early intervention with three-to-five-year-olds, and has spent time at Pendle Hill as a resident student and a Cadbury Scholar. She wrote a Pendle Hill pamphlet “Dancing With God Through the Storm,” and later a book by the same title. She is a member of Berea Friends Meeting (KY) and an attender at meetings in the Philadelphia area.
