Writing as a Path to Spirit
Iris Graville Tuesday, 17 May 2011
For the past fifteen years, Iris Graville has experienced non-fiction writing as a Spirit-led creative process that brings her closer to God and through which she ministers to others. Her interviews, essays, and memoir pieces have been published in national and regional journals and magazines. She also is an accomplished bookbinder and leads workshops on Journaling as Meditation. In 2009 Iris self-published her first book, Hands at Work—Portraits and Profiles of People Who Work with Their Hands, and is now writing a spiritual memoir. She will discuss writing as a path to Spirit by posing queries, reflecting on her own journey as a writer and publisher, and reading excerpts from her book. A past resident student at Pendle Hill, Iris is a member of Bellingham (WA) Friends Meeting and attends Lopez Island (WA) Preparative Meeting.
