The public is invited to the Barn at Pendle Hill to view "Mandala Meditations: Drawings by Carol Sexton," Pendle Hill's latest art exhibit. The exhibit will be on display through June 18. Pendle Hill is located on Plush Mill Road next to the Community Arts Center in Wallingford.
Carol Sexton is currently the Teacher of Art and Spirituality in Pendle Hill's Resident Program. She has worked in sculpture, ceramics, drawing, painting, calligraphy, and book arts. This current exhibit features a series of mandala drawings. Carol describes the mandala as "an art form involving images of centering, healing, and wholeness," and notes that the principles of Sacred Geometry are also present in many of these images. Carol regards the making of mandalas as a form of art meditation or personal spiritual practice.
