Interim Co-Directors
Ken and Katharine Jacobsen are officially Interim Co-Directors
The Pendle Hill Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Katharine Stevens Jacobsen as Interim Co-Director. Formalizing her partnership with her husband Ken, this appointment will confirm Katharine’s authority to speak on behalf of Pendle Hill, especially as she takes on more responsibility for institutional development. She will also continue her present role as teacher and consultant to resident students. Ken will focus his attention more directly on Pendle Hill’s current planning process. Both will work with the administrative team to manage ongoing operations.
Katharine brings to this work both deep spiritual gifts and a lifetime of experience in teaching and administration of schools and colleges. Her specific jobs have included service as Assistant Dean of Dartmouth College and Director of Development for the Earlham School of Religio n. Other experience includes ten years at Mount Holyoke College , including as Secretary of the College and Director of Development. She and Ken have worked in partnership before, most notably at Olney Friends School .
The Trustees are delighted that Katharine is able to contribute her gifts to Pendle Hill and look forward to working with both the Jacobsens as they engage with all in the Pendle Hill community to shape the next chapter of Pendle Hill’s history.
