Grammy Award Winning Singer-Songwriter Carrie Newcomer Performs July 24
Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Carrie Newcomer will perform in the Barn at Pendle Hill on Tuesday, July 24 at 8:00 p.m . Carrie Newcomer has earned critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, USA Today, and Acoustic Guitar and has shared the stage with Alison Krauss and Union Station, Bonnie Raitt, Rosanne Cash, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Her Pendle Hill performance is free and open to the public. She will also lead a songwriting workshop July 22-26, “Writing Mindfully: The Ordinary Life Lived Extraordinarily Well” - this course still has space as of July 11.
Carrie Newcomer has ten critically acclaimed recordings, including Regulars and Refugees and Betty’s Diner: The Best of Carrie Newcomer. She received a Grammy for songwriting in 2003 and has performed throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. An active Quaker, since 1997 she has given a percentage of her tour album sales to charitable organizations including The Nature Conservancy, Habitat for Humanity, The American Friends Service Committee, Second Harvest, and Planned Parenthood of America.
