To honor the many contributions to Pendle Hill made by Mary C. Morrison and Katharine D. Myers, Pendle Hill will hold a reception Sunday, March 2, 3:00-5:00 pm in the Barn. The reception is an expression of gratitude for the generous endowed scholarship for Pendle Hill's Resident Program given by Katharine Myers in honor of Mary Morrison. Refreshments will be served in the Barn lobby starting at 3:00, and the Bookstore will be open for browsing. At 4:00 a program, "Remembering Mary Morrison," will begin in the Barn meeting room.
Mary Morrison taught the Gospels classes at Pendle Hill for over 20 years from the 50s through the 70s and led Gospel Study Groups in her church and other locations. Mary was also a prolific writer. Her published works include eight Pendle Hill Pamphlets, numerous articles, a book on group study of the Gospels, Jesus: Sketches for a Portrait, Roxana’s Children, and Let Evening Come, a book about the later years of life.
Katharine Myers spent time as a student at Pendle Hill, served on the staff and teaching faculty, and led workshops at Pendle Hill in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®. She is a trustee of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Trust. She has worked as a teacher, counselor, and consultant, and has written numerous articles about the MBTI®. She has designed and implemented these programs as a tool in fostering inner growth and adult development.
