Cell Phone Guidelines
January 2005
In the spirit of hospitality and as a courtesy to others, Pendle Hill asks that you observe the following guidelines for cell phone usage.
Public Places
We are aware that some people will need to keep in close contact with family and friends while they are here and therefore may have their phones near and engaged. We ask that the audible signal be turned off. We understand that the occasional phone might accidentally ring at an inopportune time and ask as well for a spirit of generosity if or when this occurs.
Contemplative Places
We make every effort to keep certain places on campus conducive to prayer and reflection or quiet conversation and appreciate your observance of the intended use of these areas which include:
The worship room and in general the first floor of the Barn
The entire first floor of Firbank which includes the classroom, the Library and the Art Studio
The dining room, parlor and reading room of Main House
Owen’s Garden (down the lane and to the right from Main House)
The pond area near Brinton House
Our two hermitages, the Flower House and Spring House
