Quakers and Social Action

Balancing a focus on historical and contemporary Quaker engagement, the course will cover the following topics:
  • The history, theology, definitions, and practices of "Quaker Social Action"
  • Working with contemporary social movements; ally work; and confronting the eco-crisis
  • Skills, support, and sustainability for being in the movement for the long-haul.

Each of these days is likely to bridge content areas and time periods and to include film, reading, guest speaker/trainers, and active experimentation.

Three Saturdays: April 14, May 12, and June 9 from 9:30am-5:30pm. The course is $400 and includes lunch on each of the three Saturdays.

"I enjoy just 'being' at Pendle Hill – walking around the grounds, admiring the flora, catching up on reading, and catching my breath in the midst of a full and busy life."
