George Owen grew up in Milwaukee Wisconsin. After graduating from Oberlin College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he practiced architecture and facility planning for 23 years in New York City, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Washington DC.
George continued his practice in Milwaukee for 16 years where he raised his children after his wife died. In 2007 he remarried, retired from architecture, and moved to Pendle Hill. Combining his architectural and Quaker worldviews, he is devoting himself to working for a sustainable future.
